Broadwater Studios specialises in Drum Tuition. Established in 2000, Dez Minto teaches one to one kit playing for beginners to advanced players.

The course follows a balance between the 'Guildhall' theory teaching and practical work on the kit. The teaching of theory unlocks the ability to be taught the grooves and fills which are relevant to each particular student.

Most styles are covered including rock, jazz, latin, swing, nu-metal, hip hop etc. Each student has their own particular influences. Many students have progressed into bands and so the course is always tailored to be as relevant to the particular student as possible.

As the lessons take place within Broadwater Studios, the students have the benefit of playing to live music and backing tracks and often have the opportunity to record their playing and analyse their progress on the way through.

The drum tuition has grown very popular, and with the expansion of the recording element at Broadwater places for lessons are often very limited.

From November 2006 the sessions have been limited to individual one hour sessions dedicated to working on particular areas that individuals need improvement on or drum recording sessions to examine and refine technique. Both types of session are priced at £28 per hour.
